Graduates of John Moore Tech

HVAC Technician
After I graduated from HCC I was looking for further HVAC training because I felt there was still a lot I could learn about the field. Luckily I had the opportunity to join John Moore Tech and participate in HVAC classes, training, and lots of hands-on practice. I would like to thank the three men who were running all the classes for all their help and support: Mr. Donny Bright, Mr. Jose, and Mr. Alex.
During my time at John Moore Tech, I learned a lot from them and I gained confidence performing work in the field. It was a very big opportunity for me to start me career path as a professional HVAC Technician.

I was new to the HVAC field; I’d had only 3 months of trade school experience to that point. I always wanted to be a technician. John Moore Tech gave me the opportunity and the tools to expand my knowledge of HVAC to a whole new level. They gave me a chance in training and teaching me to become a technician in a time where many big companies wouldn’t. I feel that my time in trade school was not in any way close to what I had learned at John Moore Tech. Donny, Alex, and Jose were all great instructors and helped tremendously throughout my learning experience. When I graduated from John Moore Tech, I felt confident enough to walk up to a customer’s house and get them cooling in no time. I will always appreciate the time I spent at John Moore University.

Prior to John Moore Tech, I took some courses and graduated from San Jacinto college. When I left school, I lacked field experience and did not know how to interact with customers. Then I applied for John Moore Tech and was accepted to have training. It was a great opportunity that allowed me to learn, work, and obtain experience and confidence. Thank you, John Moore and our instructors!

After I got my certification for HVAC, I knew I needed more hands-on training. So, I decided to look for a job that would offer that. When I heard about John Moore Tech, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. By the time that I finished my 8 weeks of training, I gained so much knowledge and I now feel confident working on my own in the field.
Over all John Moore Services is a great company to be a part of. I would not be nowhere near where I am today without this great team. There are so many opportunities to grow, and there’s always support for decision making, trouble-shooting, or getting help on accomplishing the job correctly.

I initially joined John Moore Tech after a year in the field because I felt I was missing the basic fundamentals that I needed to perform my job. I had attended a community college to obtain my certification, but what I lacked was actual field practice. After going through the program, my speed of service grew by leaps and bounds. I wasn’t as nervous when interacting with clients, and I was able to build relationships that will last. Overall, I would say that this type of program should be a requirement for any techs that are coming out of school or just jumping back into the field; we all get complacent and lose track of the basics. It’s nice to have a company like John Moore that is willing to help mold you and lead you on the path to success.

HVAC Technician
After graduating from Lone Star College tech school, I was looking for a HVAC position. Most companies wanted 2 to 5 years’ experience. I enrolled into the John Moore Tech training program, which helped me advance from beginner, to a level where I was able to confidently work in the field. At the end of the school, the successful students were presented with certificates showing that they had passed.
The teachers were friendly and did not rush you. They went through all we needed to know to be able to do the job: brazing, filling a system correctly with Freon using the superheat or subcool method as appropriate, the process for recovering Freon, evacuating a system, what each component in an AC system does, and diagnosing those components. I especially enjoyed the exercises where the teachers “broke” working systems and had us fix them. All this knowledge helped make me more confident in the field and therefore more successful.
The teachers were also a point of contact when I got out into the field. They are a valuable resource when I come across anything new that stumps me or I just want a second opinion before starting on a long job to ensure my resolution is correct.

I am new to the HVAC industry. I was referred to the John Moore Tech school by my younger brother, who is an employee at John Moore. I learned a lot from the program and am still continuing to learn. I want give a big thanks to John Moore for investing in me and for accepting me into the school. And a big thanks to Donald Bright for his teaching methods and patience. We had great time and we left with great memories. It just feels great when I’m able to help customers and I see the smile on their face before I leave.”
